Mrs. Dalloway

Mrs. Dalloway, Virginia Woolf's 1925 novel. Clarissa Dalloway is a well-off Londoner who is married to a politician, and the book follows a day in her life. There isn't much of a plot in Mrs. Dalloway, and what little there is happens mostly in the minds of the characters. Several narrative threads weave together throughout the work, including Clarissa's as she plans and hosts a party and Septimus Warren Smith's, a psychologically scarred war veteran. The two individuals provide an interesting contrast to one another.
