The Golden Fleece and The Heroes Who Lived Before Achilles
Greek mythology are retold in Padraic Colum's children's book The Golden Fleece and the Heroes Who Lived Before Achilles. The book with illustrations by Willy Pogany was released in 1921 and was given the Newbery Honour in the following year.[1] The story of Jason and the Argonauts' search for the Golden Fleece and what happened as a result is the main myth that is being repeated. Other myths, like as those of Persephone and Prometheus that the poet Orpheus told while on the journey, are woven into it.
