The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights

According to mediaeval accounts, King Arthur fought off Saxon invasions in the sixth century and became a legendary British leader. Modern historians are divided on whether or not Arthur ever existed, and the elements of his story are based primarily on legend and literary fiction. The Annales Cambriae, the Historia Brittonum, and the works of Gildas are among the sources used to piece together what little history there is of Arthur.
