Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey was released after her death in 1817. Originally titled Susan, Northanger Abbey was written in 1798 or 1799 and published in four volumes alongside Persuasion. Richard Crosby, the publisher who bought the manuscript of Susan in 1803, advertised for it, but for some reason did not publish it at that time.
