In 1906, Jack London released his novel White Fang. Originally published in 1903, The Call of the Wild inspired this tale about a tamed dog's return to the wild. The protagonist of White Fang, a wolf hound, is saved from a cruel owner and eventually tames down under the loving care of Weedon Scott. Eventually, White Fang saves Scott's dad from an escaped criminal.
