The War of the Worlds

H.G. Wells's science fiction novel The War of the Worlds was initially serialized in the British publication Pearson's Magazine and the American publication The Cosmopolitan in 1897. The novel depicts a devastating war between Earthlings and alien "Martians." It has become a standard in the science fiction genre and has spawned several imitations and adaptations.
