The Velveteen Rabbit

Margery Williams (sometimes known as Margery Williams Bianco) wrote and William Nicholson illustrated the British children's book The Velveteen Rabbit (or How Toys Become Real). The book tells the tale of a stuffed rabbit who, inspired by his owner's love, longs to come to life. Williams's daughter Pamela Bianco provided the pictures for the original 1921 Harper's Bazaar publication of the story. The first print run of the book was in 1922, and it has been reprinted numerous times since then.
